Adversity can be a good thing.
It teaches you tough yet necessary life lessons.
Humility. Perseverance. Hard work. Residency. Patience.
Adversity also teaches you how to manage feeling of anxiety and depression.
Anxiety is 'fear of the unknown.'
Depression is 'hurt held inward.'
As you go through adversity you will learn skills to deal with these emotions.
Too often today's athlete experiences little adversity.
Throughout your life, you've succeeded - good grades, athletic success, etc.
The problem is that at some point, you will not succeed.
When this occurs, you will struggle because you lack certain mental skills.
So, when adversity does occur in your life, embrace it.
Rethink it as the Adversity Advantage.
