Tired Around 2:00 PM?

November 30, 2013

Do you feel tired, sluggish, and have low energy around 2:00 PM?

You are not alone.  We all feel this way.  There is an explanation.

You have a circadian rhythm: a 24 hour physiological cadence.

You likely fall asleep and wake up at the same time each day, sleeping 8 hours. You then try, but struggle, to push for 16 hours.

Fortunately, there's a 'halftime' built into our circadian rhythm.

8 hours after you wake up your energy naturally dips for an hour.  It's the mind 'ramping down' to rest and rebound for the 2nd half.

Instead of pushing through this dip in energy, go with the flow.
Block out time to rest, take a nap, do tasks that are less rigorous.

Athletes that practice this always feel better later in the day.

Excel in the 2nd half today by flowing with your circadian rhythm.
