What are you really “working out”?

November 14, 2013

You use that phrase loosely: "working out".

But what does that really mean?

Strength training. Running hill sprints. Skill and drill.

When you "work out" what you are really doing is "working out" your negative psychological tensions: anger, anxiety, frustration.

You feel better at the end of your workout.  Your body's release of endorphins, adrenaline, & serotonin helps. But there is more to it.

At conscious and subconscious levels, you processed and resolved repressed stressors.  Your mind actually got a bit clearer.

Runners often say they do their best thinking during their runs.

Clearer mind, better performance.

What will you really be "working out" today?
